How does traceability via barcodes work?

Technological innovation has enabled Plastisac to create ideal solutions for the application of traceability systems on polyethylene articles. These systems enable the tracking of activities, technologies, resources and people involved in the creation, processing, distribution, marketing and supply of a finished product. From origin to advanced stages, it is possible to identify all components involved in the production process, ensure their safety and guarantee their authenticity. For traceability, the barcode is printed directly on the product, without adding labels or anything else: this allows the establishment of a match between a code and the packaging or the product itself contained within it. 

Which bags are traceable with barcodes?

Plastisac differentiates its offer of barcode-traceable polyethylene bags into two categories:

• HDPE/LDPE bags: these can be used for packaging and wrapping in a multitude of industrial and commercial production applications. Suitable for packaging large, heavy objects, they can be made from low-density polyethylene, i.e. very strong, with welding, tie or tape closure.
• Polyethylene bags suitable for food contact: bags in various sizes and formats with certification for food contact. Thanks to strict procedures during production, Plastisac items are suitable for processing in the food world and therefore traceable within food companies.
