In which sectors should traceable PE products be used?

The sale of polyethylene products occurs in various industrial and commercial sectors. In particular, the sale of food products plays a central role. Plastisac's sale of polyethylene products is divided into three main categories:

• Foodstuffs sector: Plastisac has received the necessary certifications to be able to manufacture and sell traceable products suitable for food contact. Thanks to these certifications, the company can ensure coverage within the supply chain, providing solutions tailored to the user's needs. In the foodstuffs sector, Plastisac offers film on reels, pouches and bags, pre-cut reels and sheets.
• Non-food: the company offers a wide range of polyethylene items, traceable and customisable, which can also be ordered in small quantities. The products sold are, for example, film on reels, bundled sheets, shopper bags, industrial/commercial bags and pouches, waste bags, hoods, and garment covers.
• Other products: in addition to items produced specifically for food contact and industrial use, Plastisac sells a category to complete the product range. In this sector, we offer items such as stretch film, bubble wrap, polypropylene or biodegradable/compostable bags.

Which ways are there to trace items?

Plastisac offers innovative systems for the traceability of polyethylene products for sale. These systems make it possible to identify every component involved in the production process, from inception to the final stages of processing and marketing. Four systems are currently in use:

• Barcodes
• QR codes
• numerical codes
• RFID tags

In the first two cases, the code is printed directly onto the product, with no need to apply labels externally, so each item can be matched with a code that can be uniquely linked to information about the packaging or the product inside.
